About This Project
Having resided in their home for nearly three decades, this couple — now grandparents — embarked on a comprehensive remodel to align their dwelling with contemporary standards.
The transformation centered on creating an expansive great room by removing the partition walls between the former office, kitchen nook, and family room. This merger produced an open area featuring a spacious island and triple-sided windows providing abundant natural light.
Design incorporated Japanese heritage elements — minimalist cabinetry in darker hues and oversized pendant lighting. The primary bathroom was reconfigured, a half bath relocated for efficiency, and the fireplace repositioned to create a formal living and dining ensemble, alongside comprehensive electrical and plumbing upgrades.
